Seven-time BAFTA Award-winner Steve Coogan (Alan Partridge, The Trip) plays four roles in the world premiere stage adaptation of Stanley Kubrick’s comedy masterpiece Dr. Strangelove.

When a rogue U.S General triggers a nuclear attack, a surreal race takes place. Seeing the Government and one eccentric scientist scramble to avert global destruction.

This explosively funny satire is led by a world-renowned creative team. This includes Emmy Award-winner Armando Iannucci (The Thick of It, Veep) and Olivier Award-winner Sean Foley (The Upstart Crow, The Play What I Wrote).

National Theatre Live: Dr. Strangelove was co-adapted by Armando Iannucci and co-adapted and directed by Sean Foley.

“This production achieves the dubious feat of turning an edgy, absurdist story into broad entertainment with accessible laughs. Along with a few topical references and excellent performances all round.” The Guardian

“The absurdist satire of the source material will amuse.” Time Out

“Steve Coogan is magnificent, creating four very different characters and showing perfectly how the best laughs come from taking the comedy seriously.” Theatre Reviews with Paul Seven

“At a time when the world feels terrifyingly precarious once again, this is very much a play for today – both an astute skewering of our worst tendencies and most paranoid fears, and an outrageously funny, much-needed release valve.” London Theatre
