Celebrate the Magic of Christmas at Brewery Arts

Come together for an unforgettable Christmas experience at Brewery Arts in Kendal. With an exciting line up of family entertainment, Christmas crafts, theatre, live music, festive films and food – there’s plenty to get you and your loved ones in the festive spirit. 

Family Fun

We’re presenting a joyfully hilarious and interactive Christmas show The Man Who Wanted to be a Penguin. Running from 13-24 December, the show promises to be an energetic and entertaining performance which people of all ages will enjoy. Inspired by the show, there will be creative Make a Penguin Puppet workshops from 14-23 December. There will be a pop-up puppet theatre where puppet creations can be brought to life.

For kids under 4, there is also a festive themed Mini Movies session on 6 December, where little ones and their grown-ups are invited to watch a film and craft something inspired by the story.

Festive Films

We’re screening your favourite festive films this winter including Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Holiday, Love Actually, Elf, The Polar Express, It’s A Wonderful Life, The Muppet Christmas Carol and Die Hard. We’re also showing Gremlins for it’s 40 Anniversary Theatre lovers will have a chance to see The Nutcracker performed by The Royal Ballet on screen on 21 and 22 December.

Live events

Live music during the festive period includes an ABBA Reunion – Christmas special on 14 December. This show is the creation of an award-winning West End Director, Producer and Choreographer and stars the original ‘Frida’ from the London West End cast. Expect all the greatest hits from Mamma Mia to Dancing Queen. Other performers include The Albion Christmas Band, who are taking the stage on 19 December and The Seals on 20 December, so bring your friends along and rock out!

Count Arthur Strong is taking to the stage on 30 November performing as Charles Dickens in “A Christmas Carol”.  Arthur delivers the Charles Dickens story and follows this with his own adaptation of one of the most classic festive tales. ‘At every turn, his performance gives us something to marvel at’Brian Logan, The Guardian

Christmas Crafting

From 29 November – 1 December, Craft Market Kendal is coming to Brewery Arts. Widely recognised for presenting a stunning and varied choice of contemporary work, the market will showcase unique and innovative craftsmanship by a selection of exhibitors. Offering an exciting alternative shopping experience, people are invited to support craft makers, artists & designers in the North of England and beyond.

For craft lovers, you can learn how to design and make your own, unique, lino cut Christmas cards this season. This tutor-led session takes place on 30 November, all abilities are welcome. For those looking to spend time with family and friends, the Art in the Bar or Crafternoon Brew workshops on 27 and 28 November offer the opportunity for a relaxed and creative get together.

Food and Drink

Brewery Arts restaurant is serving up a delicious 3-course meal for the festive season. The set menu, priced at £28.50, offers up classic dishes from roasted turkey breast with all the trimmings to Christmas Pudding and brandy sauce.
