At Brewery Arts we support and champion amazing women in music and their contributions to the creative industry. We have an incredible lineup of leading women artists in our 2025 programme, below are must-see events with women taking centre stage!

Charlotte Tasker, Programme Manager at Brewery Arts, says, “I feel proud to work with some amazingly influential women in the music industry. They all individually represent a symbol of strength, expression, and originality through masterful songwriting and inspiring performances. From shaping the British folk/rock scene to the coolest women in pop, they groundbreakingly forge a path for new-age generational music.”

Cara Dillon

Few luminaries shine as brightly as Cara Dillon; she remains a towering figure in Irish music, consistently lauded as one of the folk genre’s finest interpreters on the global stage. For nearly 30 years, she has enchanted audiences with her stunning, emotive voice, earning a slew of prestigious awards and accolades along the way. 

Steeleye Span

1 May | Doors 7.30pm 

The instantly recognisable voice of Steeleye Span, Maddy Prior began singing in her early teens and hasn’t stopped since. Prior has been one of the band’s constants – her voice guiding them through a variety of styles, from her beloved traditional music to rock and pop.

Peggy Seeger

17 May | Doors 7.30pm

Peggy Seeger, the grande dame of American and British folk music, embarks on her last ever concert tour in celebration of her 90th Birthday. Peggy has been performing for over seventy-five years and will showcase some of her best loved songs from across her extraordinary career. Her songs remain uncompromising, and her wit and delivery are as sharp as ever.

29 May | Doors 7.30pm

Highlands-based songwriter Iona Lane weaves ecology, conservation, islands and folklore into poetic songs and contemplative melodies. Iona’s new album Swilkie was written during three residencies on the Isle of Eigg, Isle of Mull and Sanday in Orkney, sense of place and landscape are at the core of these songs. 

Hannah Rarity

28 June | Doors 7.30pm

Hannah Rarity is a celebrated Scottish folk singer, her albums ‘Neath the Gloaming Star’ and ‘To Have You Near’, having earned critical acclaim and award nominations. Renowned for her ethereal voice, she effortlessly blends traditional, contemporary, and original music, which has seen her perform internationally including with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and at Celtic Connections.

Regarded as “One of the best musicians of the twenty-first century”, Joan Wasser (Joan As Police Woman) is a celebrated American musician. She began her career playing violin with the Dambuilders and played with Black Beetle, Antony and the Johnsons, and Those Bastard Souls. Since 2004 she has released her solo material as Joan As Police Woman.
