Creative Art Walk with Jess Emsley

Art & Crafts |
13th May 2023

Creative Art Walk | Sat 13 & Sat 20 May | 10am-1pm | £45 | 16+ yrs | Guest Artist Jess Emsley | Kendal Castle, Serpentine Woods & Studio 3

During this two-session workshop, participants are invited to explore a local woodland walk with a focus on sensory drawing in response to experiences. The Creative Art Walk explores observational drawing by taking texture rubbings and representing sounds, among other techniques, which will then culminate in studio work back at Brewery Arts.

If you would like to book as a family or group of friends, please contact Learning and Engagement Manager claire.williams@breweryarts.co.uk for further information.

What will the workshop cover and how will it be taught?

The workshop will include a mix of studio work and collecting inspiration through the Creative Art Walk itself. Each session will begin with a walk to gather sketches, photos, and materials to develop into artwork at Brewery Arts.

The walk will be under 3km in length and generally taken at a slow, leisurely pace. If you have any questions or concerns about the walk or fitness levels required, please contact claire.williams@breweryarts.co.uk.

What do I need to bring with me?

The ground in wooded areas will be uneven underfoot, so please wear appropriate shoes and clothing for walking in all weather. Participants may wish to bring a head torch, a camera, water, and spectacles if required.

Are there any additional costs?

All materials are provided but participants may wish to bring their own equipment.
