Doors 7.30pm | Tickets £24.50 | Theatre

Hejira is a remarkable 7-piece band dedicated to simultaneously celebrating and honouring the masterpiece works of Joni Mitchell, primarily from the late ’70s.

Joni Mitchell released albums like The Hissing of Summer Lawns, Hejira, Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter, and Mingus. She then toured briefly with a band made up of top musicians such as Metheny, Mays, Brecker, Pastorius, and Alias. This tour was recorded, producing the acclaimed live album Shadows and Light. Hejira’s repertoire draws heavily from this album.

The band features world-class musicians and is fronted by the brilliant Hattie Whitehead. Hattie has perfectly captured the poise, power, and beauty of Joni’s vocals. She also plays guitar in a style reminiscent of Joni’s own.

Expect an evening of the ‘great’ songs from Mitchell’s back catalogue!

Band Lineup:

Hattie Whitehead ~ vocals & guitar
Ollie Weston ~ tenor & soprano saxophones
Chris Eldred ~ keyboards
Pete Oxley ~ guitar
Dave Jones ~ bass
Rick Finlay ~ drums
Marc Cecil ~ percussion

“An incredible band who do Joni’s music ( especially her jazz phase ) such justice. It’s so obvious they all love her music and it really shows in their performances.” Audience Review
